What you need to get started
Two things set your team up for the season: a YouTube account for replays and the free Larix app on the phone you'll film with.
When to use this guide
Read this before your first game so nothing is missing on game day.
What your team needs
- A YouTube account for the team — this is where your game replays live.
- The free Larix Broadcaster app on the phone you'll stream with — this is how you go live.
- That's it. Shori hosts the live stream itself, so you don't need any other streaming account.
Why YouTube
Replays are published to your team's YouTube account and then show up in your Shori replay library. Using your own YouTube account means the replays stay yours and are easy for families to watch on any device.
Why Larix
Larix is the free camera app that turns your phone into a broadcast camera. Shori gives you a one-tap setup link that configures Larix for you — you won't type in any settings by hand.
You do NOT need
- A Cloudflare account or any streaming server — Shori handles that behind the scenes.
- Stream keys, RTMP URLs, or encoder settings — the setup link fills these in automatically.
- Expensive gear — a modern phone and the Larix app is enough to start.
Common mistakes
- Trying to set up a separate streaming service — Shori is the streaming host.
- Waiting until game day to install Larix — do it during setup instead.
